The Garden of Becoming Collection celebrates transformation and growth. There are 2 parts to the collection the first is marble, the second is sand and stone. I had visions of beautiful marble

flowers made of porcelain. Through research I discovered that marble is formed through a process called metamorphism.  Intense heat and pressure beneath the earth's surface creates a dense rock made of interlocking crystals. The beautiful veining and swirling patterns in marble are created when impurities in the rock recrystallize. Each porcelain flower, shaped and painted by hand, reveals the beauty of transformation, growth, and metamorphosis.

The Sand and Stone flowers are formed by combining porcelain and clay. The weathering and erosion of rocks and stones from natural forces like wind, water, and ice creates sand. Sand is a vital resource in the foundation of almost every physical structure where we live, work and play.

"Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay; you are the potter; we are all the work of your

hand." - Isaiah 64:8
